Carlos Maria da Silva Feijó has graduated with honors at the Agostinho Neto Law School, in Angola. He holds a Master and a PhD in Law from Universidade Nova de Lisboa Law School. He has had several appointments at the University and he is currently a Full Professor having published numerous articles and books in public and international Business law.
Much of his work has been devoted to the scientific research, reason why he is a member of Cedis - Centre of Scientific Investigation of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and investigator in the graduate school of Republic and Development, Management (University of Witwatersrand - Faculty of Management) - South Africa.

Professor Xiaoqiang Yang is a full professor of tax law at the School of Law of Sun Yat-Sen University. His research interests focus on Tax Law, Valuation Law and Business Law. He got PhD from school of government of Sun Yat-Sen University (2003), LL.M degree (1994) and LL.B degree (1991) from Southwest University of Political Science and Law.
He has published 8 books and more than 70 articles mainly on VAT law in academic journals.
In 2006, the Supreme Court of China offered a senior judge position for him, he had worked for a period of time and chose to return for law school. He has been acting as the consultant for Guangdong Provincial Tax Authority for over 10 years. Since 2010, he has been working as the consultant for EY China Indirect Tax Team.
Since 2008, Professor Yang has been involved in Chinese VAT reform and policy-making with the invitation of National People’s Congress and Ministry of Finance. Since 2009, he has been the Chinese Correspondent for International VAT Monitor of IBFD. Dr Claire Bright is Assistant Professor in Private Law and the Director of the Nova Centre on Business, Human Rights and the Environment at Nova Law School in Lisbon. She holds a PhD in International Law from the European University Institute, an LL.M in Private International Law and International Commercial Law from La Sorbonne Law School and a Double Bachelor's degree in French and English Laws.

Andreia Sofia Pinto Oliveira concluded in 1997 the Law degree in the Law School at the Universidade de Coimbra and in 2006 the PhD in Law at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, being the topic of the thesis: "Right of asylum in the Portuguese Constitution”. From 2010 to 2011, served as Portuguese Consultant for UNHCR for the purposes of Further Developing Asylum Quality Project. She is currently Assistant Professor in the Law School at the Universidade do Minho and member of the Research Centre for Justice and Governance (JusGov).
Patrick O’Malley is a Europe-based academic and international corporate and securities lawyer, dual qualified in both the United States and England and Wales. On the academic side, he is an assistant professor in comparative law at the Universidad de Navarra in Spain, as well as a regular lecturer at numerous other institutions, such as the International Training Centre of the ILO-UN in Italy, the Université Cergy-Pontoise, the Université Catholique de Lyon and Brest Business School in France. O’Malley also provides professional legal/business training around Europe and the U.S., and occasionally in Africa and Central Asia. Most of O’Malley’s courses cover comparative United States-European corporate and securities law issues, corporate governance, compliance and other commercial topics. He has especially focused on issues of international corporate governance, transparency and global efforts to combat corporate corruption/bribery. He speaks fluent Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese. O’Malley is a graduate of Providence College (US), the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Switzerland) and Boston College Law School (US). In addition, he received his Ph.D. summa cum laude from the Universidad de Navarra (Spain).

Dr. Allan F. Tatham is professor in EU law, at the Faculty of Law, CEU San Pablo University, Madrid. Called as a barrister in 1992, he was previously Assistant Professor and Director of the European Study Centre, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest, Hungary and has lectured on EU law throughout Central and Eastern Europe. He worked as legal advisor at the Delegation of the European Commission to Hungary and has published extensively on EU enlargement and law harmonisation. He lectures in English on constitutional aspects of EU law as well as on Public International Law and is presently researching the role of judiciaries in regional integration.
Anabela Gonçalves is currently Vice President and Assistant Professor at the Law School of the University of Minho. Anabela Susana de Sousa Gonçalves holds a PhD in Legal-Privatistic Sciences from the Law School (ED) of the University of Minho (2012), a Master in Legal and Business Sciences from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra (2003), and is graduated in Law from the School of Law at the University of Minho (1999).
Anabela Gonçalves has been appointed expert of the European Commission since 2014 to evaluate the financing projects submitted to the Commission under the JUSTICE program, including projects within the scope of judicial cooperation in civil material, and was appointed by the European Commission to the Group of Experts for the Revision of Regulation No. 2201/2003 on International Competence and Recognition of decisions in matrimonial matters and parental responsibility. Currently, she is also a member of the European Research Council, as an evaluator, appointed by the European Commission.

Has a degree in Law and holds Post-Graduations in IP and Competition Law, Genetics and Law and in Pharmaceutical Law. Began his career as a Legal Adviser for IP at TecMinho and as Manager of the University of Minho IP Office. Later, he joined Clarke, Modet & Co, a multinational IP consultancy company, where he opened and managed the company’s office at Oporto, being also responsible for Clarke, Modet & Co - Portugal Marketing Department. In 2007, appointed Patent and Trademark Attorney. In 2009, he joined COTEC-Portugal, a non-profit association representing the top 100 Portuguese companies, where he worked as IP Manager. In 2010, appointed Vice-President of INPI (Portuguese Industrial Property Institute). Member of the Administrative Council of the European Patent Office and of the Administrative Board of the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market. Member of the Supervisory Board of the European Patent Academy (European Patent Office). Frequently invited to lecture IP at Portuguese (e.g. EGP-UPBS, UNL, ISEG, IPL) and Foreign Universities (e.g. University Federal de Minas Gerais, Università degli Studi di Sassari, Università degli Studi di Verona).

Attended Harvard University earning his A.B., before receiving a Juris Doctorem from Boston College Law School and a Legum Magister in Trade Regulation from New York University School of Law. After being admitted to the New York Bar, worked for seven years at the Federal Reserve Bank before practicing law for nearly 30 years in New York City where he specialized in various areas of Corporate, Banking, Taxation, Antitrust and Maritime Law. Since retiring from the day-to-day practice of law in 2003, has lived and worked in Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Turkey and, now, Portugal, and has taught at universities in Turkey and Portugal hundreds of undergraduates, graduate students, professors, practicing lawyers and judges.
