qualifications for admission

Admission to the programme to obtain the Master’s Degree in European and Transglobal Business Law (LL.M.) is highly selective and based upon stringent requirements. Those admitted should possess a strong academic and/or professional background.

Applicants are required to hold a first Degree in Law, or in Economics, Management or International Relations that include substantial legal content; and for applicants whose first language is not English, or who did not have English as the language of instruction to obtain their previous degree(s), such applicants must provide acceptable evidence of a good command of the English language.

› A photocopy of your valid Passport or Identity Card;

› Correctly filled out application (see registration bellow);

› A letter of motivation conveying information not only about the applicant’s experience and professional goals but also about the benefits he/she expects to derive from the completion of the LL.M. programme (max. 500 words);

› Up-to-date Curriculum Vitae;

› Two letters of recommendation (in English, Portuguese, French, Spanish or Italian), which include the names and contact details of two referees, of whom at least one should be related to academia;

› Certified copies of all diplomas and transcripts from the schools attended (documents stating academic degrees and marks obtained). Please include certified translations when those documents are not in English, Portuguese, French, Spanish or Italian.

› If the applicant’s native language is not English or English was not the language of instruction used to obtain the previous degree (s), evidence of a good command of the English language should be provided in the form of a certificate from an officially recognized English school or in the form of an official TOEFL / IELTS score report;

› Proof of payment of the application fee.

After the Admissions Office verifies that your application documents are complete, you will receive, by e-mail, an acknowledgment of receipt of the application.


decision on admission

A formal statement regarding admission will be sent to you by the Admissions Office. The statement will advise whether you are admitted, conditionally admitted, or not admitted to the programme.
